Patriot Sprint Tour Set To Head To Selinsgrove This Saturday For Joe Whitcomb Memorial
Story By: PAUL HARKENRIDER / PATRIOT SPRINT TOUR – SELINSGROVE, PA – For the only time in 2019, the A-Verdi Storage Containers Patriot Sprint Tour will tackle the Selinsgrove Speedway for the Joe Whitcomb Memorial.
This is the fifth consecutive season the Patriots have sanctioned the Joe Whitcomb Memorial and has seen TJ Stutts, Davie Franek, Nate Snyder, and Chad Layton win this special event.
Whitcomb was a long-time competitor of the speedway beginning his career at a young age racing go karts at the track all the way up to racing in the 358 Sprint Car division, sporting his No. 71 machine. Overall, this will be the 16th annual race honoring Whitcomb with this years event paying $2,271 and $271 to qualify.
Through three PST events, Davie Franek has a slim 11-point advantage over Jordan Thomas. Joe Trenca is also right there trailing Franek by 12 points. Jonathan Preston and Kyle Drum complete the top five in the point standings.
