Patriot Sprints Headlines Action This Friday At Ransomville Speedway

Story By: DAVE BUCHANAN / RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY – RANSOMVILLE, NY – Ransomville Speedway will host its lone winged sprint car race of the season this Friday, May 31, as A-Verdi Storage Containers, All Metal Works, Just Signs & Design and Redline Automotive & Transmission present the Patriot Sprints plus a full card of racing.

The Patriot Sprint Tour has been fixture at the “Big R” since 2003, and this year will mark the 20th Patriot event held at the facility. Last season “The Cobra” Chuck Hebing dominated the Patriot A-Main to claim his seventh career win at Ransomville.

Thanks to the very wet early spring in New York, the Patriots have only run two events so far in 2019. Hebing won their season opener at the Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua on May 4, while Davie Frank won at Woodhull on May 11. That win gave Franek a share of the tour points lead heading to Ransomville as he his tied with Joe Trenca.

The Investors Service Sportsman, Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks, Gippster’s Collision Mini Stocks and Stevenson’s Hardware Novice Sportsman will also be in action. The Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds have the night off. Following last week’s season-opening festivities, drivers and teams will be excited to get back-to-back races in the books.

Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. with grandstands opening at 6 p.m. Racing starts at 7:15 p.m. Grandstand admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students (age 13-17), $8 for children age 9-12 and kids 8 and under are free. Pit admission is $27 for member, $32 for non-member.
