Bridgeport Speedway Set To Begin Their Points Battles This Coming Saturday Night

Story By: KOLBY RAMEY / BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY – SWEDESBORO, NJ – The 2019 season point battles will begin at the Bridgeport Speedway this Saturday night, May 4th, on a race night sponsored by Massari & Sons Disposal out of Carney’s Point, NJ.

The Spirit Auto Center Big Block Modifieds, South Jersey Overhead Door 602 Crate Sportsman and the Sunbelt Rentals Outlaw Stocks will compete in the first point events of the 2019 season. It will also be the first outing of the DA’s Auto Body & Repair Rookies.

In the Big Block Modifieds, Billy “The Kid” Pauch opened the season with a dominating win in the 60 Over – Doug Hoffman Memorial Race. Rick Laubach was the race winner in mid-April on a race night sponsored by BRB Contractors. Both drivers will be looking to be the first repeat winners of the 2019 season while drivers like reigning track champion, Ryan Watt, Richie Pratt, Jr., Neal Williams, Tommy Beamer, Roger Manning and David Hunt will be among those drivers looking for their first checkered flags of the season.

Steve Kemery has been red hot during the early races of the 2019 season for the 602 Crate Sportsman, picking up the wins in the two events so far this season. Kemery picked up right where he left off at the end of last season and has been the man to beat. Drivers like Jim Gallagher, Jr., Matt Peck, Wayne Weaver, Chris Jenkins and others are looking to be the first to beat Kemery to the finish.

Rich Stinson was the winner in the only event run to date in the Outlaw Stocks but there are plenty of drivers with their eye on the prize including former track champion, Tom Wills, Jr., Lee Allen, Brian Ludwig to mention a few.

Pit gates will open at 3:30 with fans being able to access the grandstands at 4:30. Racing will get underway at 6pm. Adults will be admitted the grandstand for $20. Kids from 10-15 will be admitted for $10 with children nine and under admitted for free.
