Sportsman Ready for Action on Saturday Night at Grandview More to Win Modified Feature, Sportsman Feature Purse Has Changes
Story By: ERNIE SAXTON / GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – The excitement of NASCAR stock car racing is set to happen at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night with the T.P.Trailers Modifieds and T.P.Truck Equipment Sportsman ready to kick off the battle for the NASCAR and track championships at 7 p.m.
A stellar field of racers is expected to be on hand to kick off the 57th consecutive season of auto racing entertainment at the popular Bechtelsville, PA speed plant.
A full series of qualifying events will be presented in both divisions of competition with the top performers getting to race in the 30-lap feature for Modifieds and 25-lap feature for Sportsman.
With the addition of T.P.Trailers sponsorship money the Modifieds will now receive $300 more to win while the T.P.Truck Equipment money will have the Sportsman racing for $800 to win. And the top prize will be increased to $900 if the winner in the Sportsman action is a Crate Sportsman. In addition the Sportsman will see their feature purse restructured and additional money being offered.
At 4:30 p.m. the weekly Low Down & Dirty Meet and Greet featuring Brad Brightbill and Brad Grim will take place near the main grandstand entrance and will continue to at least 5:30 p.m. It gives fans a great opportunity to collect autographs, purchase t-shirts, take photos and get up close to the race cars.
Adult admission is just $15 while youngsters under 12 are admitted free. There is free parking available on the speedway grounds.
On Sunday at 1 p.m. the Outlaw Enduros and Blast from the Past Vintage racers will be in action.
When the racing ends each Saturday night fans are invited to head back to the pit area to see the race cars up close, take pictures and collect autographs.
Grandview Speedway is known for their excellent well-stocked concession areas and there is a great novelty stand that offers souvenirs, t-shirts, hats and more along with copies of the latest edition of the track magazine, The Inside Groove. And there is free parking on the speedway grounds. Fans are permitted to bring their own concession items but no glass bottles.
