Danny Dietrich Dominates Friday Night At Williams Grove For Second Win Of 2019
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / GARY KAUFFMAN RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – Danny Dietrich made it look easy on Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway, ultimately leading all 25 circuits to clinch his second victory of the 2019 season.
Dietrich, who also owns a victory at the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway, started from the pole position on Friday night and never looked back, absolutely dominating the field for a 20th-career victory at the half-mile paperclip, this one worth just over $4,000.
“That was fun,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “Starting from the pole on a quick surface like this, you really have to take advantage of it. I really wasn’t sure how good we were, but I didn’t feel any pressure, so I just kept clicking off laps and it all worked out. I can’t thank this team enough for their hard work. More wins will come.”
Although forced to start at the tail of the field on Saturday during his first visit of the year to Port Royal Speedway, the result of a steering box issue, Dietrich was not flustered, but instead, put on a passing clinic, as the Gettysburg-native rallied from last to finish sixth in 25 laps. In fact, Dietrich climbed his way to 14th by the completion of lap one.
Up next on the schedule, Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will battle head-to-head with the Pennsylvania Posse on three consecutive evenings. ‘Double-D’ will visit Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, April 5, Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, April 6, and BAPS Motor Speedway on Sunday, April 7. The visits to Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway will allow Dietrich to test and tune before the upcoming All Star Circuit of Champions invasion on Friday and Saturday, April 12 & 13.
