Ryan Smith Rallies For Two Top-Five Finishes This Weekend In Central PA With Heffner Racing

Story By: MANDEE PAUCH / HEFFNER RACING – HELLERTOWN, PA – Heffner Racing Enterprises driver, Ryan Smith, registered two top-five finishes this past weekend in Central Pennsylvania.

Smith opened the weekend Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Speedway.

Smith maneuvered his way through the heat race to grab third-place, placing him into the redraw for the main event.

Smith rolled off on the outside of the third row for the 25-lap feature.

“We had a shot,” Smith said. “It was pretty good racing for the lead. It was all around the wall, slider fest. We got by Dietrich in turn three then he crossed me up off of four and ran me out of room going into one. I had to get out of it otherwise we probably would have crashed.”

Smith once again crossed the line in second, marking two seconds in a row at Lincoln Speedway this season.

Sunday evening saw the No.72 team at Williams Grove Speedway to kick off opening day at the famed half-mile.

Smith ran away with the heat race win, which placed him into the redraw for the 25-lap feature event.

Smith started on the inside of the third row.

“We passed Lucas for third and ran there for a while,” he said. “We got in lapped traffic and were on top of each other. We were going into turn three and a lap car got in the way and Macri drove in the back of him and blew off his front wing. I drove it over. Meanwhile, Lucas got back around me. We were running third until two to go when we had a restart. I didn’t get going and Dietrich got around me and we ended up fourth.”

The new team is showing strength and consistency with three races so far under their belt and three top-five finishes to show it.
