Grandview Speedway Ready To Start 57th Consecutive Season Of Racing In 2019
Story By: ERNIE SAXTON / GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – For the 57th straight season the Rogers family operated one-third-mile, banked clay oval will present weekly Saturday night auto racing events along with a number of special events that will include a variety of different forms of auto racing.
On Saturday, March 23, the first of the special Outlaw Enduro and Blast from the Past Vintage car doubleheaders will take place with a 1 P.M. start. A Sunday, March 24th rain date is in place just in case Ma Nature does not cooperate.
Fans will then be invited to attend the Free-to-the-Public practice session on Saturday, March 30th that will include many different forms of racing competition as they test and tune their racing equipment to make sure all is ready for the new season. The practice session will start at noon.
Available on practice day will be season passes priced at $350 that will give fans admission to all Saturday events throughout the 2019 season and the pass includes a seat of their choice for each event.
Season passes can also be purchased by sending a checking covering the number of season passes being ordered to Grandview Speedway, 87 Wilt Road, Bechtelsville, Pa 19515. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope to speed return delivery of the passes.
The Second annual VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Money Maker Memorial, paying $7,500 to win, will take place on Saturday, April 6th with a 7 pm starting time. Featured will be a 50-lap main event, remembering the late track promoter who passed away two years back, which will have Small Block and Big Block Modifieds pitted against each other. A full series of qualifying events will lead up to the big money main event that will have every starter earning at last $1,000. More than $46,000 will be paid out.
In addition to the Modifieds, the Sportsman stock cars will also present a full show of racing using Grandview rules.
Racers planning to participate are requested to pre-enter (no entry fee) by telephoning or texting 484-256-4375. There is no license required and it is a non-point event. Please provide driver’s name, contact information and phone number to assist in the promotion of the event.
Rain date for the Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker will be Saturday, April 13.
Ticket prices for the April 6th special event are $28 for adults, $5 for youngsters 6 thru 11 and those under 6 will be admitted FREE.
The chase for the NASCAR championships in TP Trailer Modifieds and TP Truck Equipment Sportsman divisions will kick off on Saturday, April 13th.
The first Thunder on the Hill event, a Bob Miller and Rogers Family promotion, will take place on June 11th and will feature the annual Jesse Hockett Classic USAC Non-Win Sprints and 358 Modifieds.
