Can-Am Gearing Up For Another Exciting Go-Kart Season; Winged Champ Karts Coming In ’19

Story By: CAN-AM SPEEDWAY – LAFARGEVILLE, NY – The 2018 go-kart racing season at Can-Am can be considered a huge success, under the first year guidance of new track owner Tyler Bartlett. Coming off some great racing and increased kart counts on a weekly basis, officials are preparing for what they are hoping to be another great season of go-kart racing.

Can-Am management recently announced the addition of the Winged Champ Karts for 2019 and the response so far has been overwhelming. There will be 4 classes of Winged Champ Karts competing weekly, offering a class for all ages and abilities. There will also be a special Winged Champ Kart Series event on Saturday June 22nd, which will bring in racers from around New York State chasing series points.

Weekly racing will again be held on Saturday nights featuring 14 different classes for juniors and adults. Three special events have been added to the schedule for 2019 and should see a packed pit area with racers making the trip to LaFargeville chasing some big money that will be up for grabs. The first special event will be opening night May 4th, when Pro Clone Medium will be racing for $1000 to win and the Pro Clone Heavy winner will take home $500.

The biggest night of the season will be Saturday night July 6th, when Can-Am will host the Firecracker 50. A $2000 check will be waiting for the winner of the 50 lap Pro Clone Medium race while the Pro Clone Heavy winner will take home $500 and the Jr. Blue Clone winner will grab $300. The season will conclude with the 2nd annual Battle at the Border on August 31st. Again there will be extra money on the line for Pro Clone Medium and Pro Clone Heavy.

New for Can-Am competitors in 2019 will be the use of transponders for scoring and raceceivers to help run off the shows more efficiently. Both will be available for rent, in limited quantities, at all racing events.

Can-Am will close out the 2018 racing season on Friday night, March 1st, with their annual banquet at the beautiful Harbor Hotel in Clayton NY.
