“500 Club” To Debut At 2019 RUSH Late Model Tour Events; $500 In Cash Drawings
Story By: MIKE LEONE / RUSH RACING SERIES – PULASKI, PA – The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series powered by Pace Performance is excited to announce a new program for the upcoming 2019 season. The “500 Club” will allow five drivers from the host speedway’s top 15 in points the ability to win an additional $100 cash bonus at Sweeney Touring Series events! The “500” Club will influx an additional $8,000 of available cash into the hands of RUSH “weekly” racers who participate in RUSH Touring events!
The “500 Club” will debut when the 2019 Sweeney Touring Series kicks-off at Delaware International Speedway on April 17 for night one of the second annual “Battle of the Bay Speedweek”. This event has already been increased to $4,000 to-win for the “Raelyn Huffman Memorial”. The top 15 in “2018” DIS track points will be eligible for the five $100 drawings.
At Tour events at tracks that do not run the RUSH Late Models weekly such as Lernerville (PA), Weedsport (NY), Georgetown (DE), and Expo (OH), the two nearest RUSH weekly-sanctioned track points will be utilized. For example, Georgetown will use the weekly track points at DIS and Potomac. This means competing racers in the top 15 in points at DIS and Potomac will have two opportunities to win $100.
“Even though we’re coming off our best year of Touring car counts we’re always thinking and trying to create new programs to help our racers,” acknowledged RUSH Director Vicki Emig. “The heart of RUSH is our ‘weekly’ sanctioned tracks- without them we have no Touring Series. I think this is a great way to continue to reward our weekly racers in conjunction with our already valuable National Weekly, Summer Chase, Track Pack, and Futures Cup programs. Couple those with our new ‘500 Club’, awesome Manufacturers Nights and other additional bonus programs and I think it will continue to accomplish our goal of making sure all levels of RUSH racers have something to be part of when the compete at a RUSH-sanctioned event!”
The “500 Club”‘ will serve three purposes; offer host tracks $500 of additional payout paid by the Series to their own weekly racers, reward drivers for supporting their home track’s “tour” events, and enhance and promote excitement for the track’s own “weekly” fans and competitors.
The “500 Club” drawings will take place nightly at the drivers meeting. All eligible drivers’ pills will be separated with five random $100 drawings taking place. *Note: The “500 Club” program will not be included at “Manufacturers Night” and two other special Tour events that will have other special promotions.
The entire “500 Club” program will carry a “presenting” sponsorship as well as per event “supporting” sponsorship opportunities.
