Joe Trenca Produces Top-10 Finish During Dutch Hoag Nationals At Outlaw Speedway
Story By: SHAWN MILLER / MUCCI MOTORSPORTS – DUNDEE, NY – Joe Trenca capped his season with a top-10 finish last Friday at Outlaw Speedway during the Dutch Hoag Nationals.
The Mucci Motorsports driver kicked off the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints show by timing in fourth quickest in his group. A fifth-place finish in his heat race lined him up on the inside of the seventh row for the main event.
“We didn’t set ourselves up to start near the front so that hurt our chances, but I was pleased with how we progressed at the end of the night,” Trenca said. “Top 10s are always the first goal and since this was our final race of the season it was a good way to go out.”
Trenca advanced for a ninth-place result, which marked his fourth consecutive top 10 at Outlaw Speedway. It was also his 10th career top-10 finish at the oval.
“We’ve always seemed to run well at Outlaw Speedway,” he said. “It’s one of my favorite places and it certainly doesn’t hurt that we’re a consistent top-10 car there.”
Trenca ended the season with back-to-back top-10 finishes. It marked only the third time this season that he recorded consecutive top 10s.
“Consistency is something we’re working on and that will be an emphasis next year,” he said. “Thankfully we’re ending the year with some momentum and we will try to use that to springboard us into a successful 2019.”
