Weedsport’s Labor Day ‘Triple Play’ To Feature Racing For Just About Every Fan!

Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / WEEDSPORT SPEEDWAY – WEEDSPORT, NY – Weedsport Speedway will celebrate Labor Day Weekend in style on Monday, September 3 featuring the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds, the ESS Sprint Car 360 Open, and the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series in the ‘Labor Day Triple Play’ at The Port presented by Lane’s Yamaha Inc.

The trifecta of action will be highlighted by the third stop of the season by the Super DIRTcar Series Big Blocks, who visited Weedsport on Memorial Day as well as just last month for the Hall of Fame 100.

Stewart Friesen and Erick Rudolph claimed SDS Big Block wins in those events with fellow series hot shoes Matt Sheppard, Max McLaughlin, Jimmy Phelps, Brett Hearn, Peter Britten, Danny Johnson and more, hot on their heels.

The Super DIRTcar Series Labor Day 100 will now pay a hefty $8,000 to the winner with a guaranteed $700 to take the green flag thanks to Rochester based, Stirling Lubricants.

A paid B-Main will also be a part of the evening for the Modifieds with 36 or more entries.

Joining the Big Blocks on the main bill will be the 360 Sprint Car Open with some of the best winged sprint racers in the area returning to Weedsport yet again.

The Labor Day special will be the second winged 360 Sprint Car race of the season at The Port.

Top winged combatants such as Jason Barney, Coleman Gulick, Paul Kinney, Chuck Hebing, Matt Tanner, Mike Mahaney and Matt Billings are again expected yet again.

The DIRTcar Pro Stock Series event on September 3 will be the sixth of the season on tour.

Jocelyn Roy is the current DIRTcar Pro Stock Series point leader over Dan Older, Rob Yetman, Charles-David Beauchamp and Rock Aubin.

Roy and Beauchamp each have one feature win on the season joined by Bruno Cyr, Chuck Dumblewski and Rick Duzlak.
