Airborne Park To Name First Ever Speedway Hall Of Fame Class This Saturday

Story By: ROBBY KNOWLES / AIRBORNE PARK SPEEDWAY – PLATTSBURGH, NY – The first annual Airborne Park Speedway Hall of Fame night is coming up this Saturday at Airborne Park Speedway.

Before the racing action gets underway, Speedway officials will be on hand at the Champlain Valley Transportation Museum for the opening ceremony. The first class will have five inductees honored Saturday afternoon and then later that evening at Airborne.

Legend cars will be included at the ceremony, showing off the earlier years of Airborne.

“We are excited to be doing this for Airborne’s rich history,” Airborne Park Speedway Promoter, John Walker said. “The Transportation Museum is loaded with information and we are happy to have a place in their museum.”

Following the ceremony, attention will be turned to the Airborne Park Speedway grounds, as an action-packed night of racing is scheduled to take place. The Egglefield Ford 358-Modifieds, Poirier’s True Value Sportsman Modifieds, Ernie’s Discount Tools Super Stocks, Mini-Mods and Strictly Stocks will all do battle in regular distance events.

Racing gets underway at 7 p.m. with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Admission prices are set at $12 for adults, with kids ages 12 and under free of charge.
