Stewart Friesen Continues To Be A Champion For All Race Fans
Column By: ROBERT SYMONDS / RPW – DUNDEE, NY – Stewart Friesen, driver of the number 44 Halmar International Big Block…wait, you should already know who Stewart Friesen is.
Friesen is a multi-time Super DirtCar Series race winner, multi-time Super Dirt Week Champion, and could potentially be a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion. These are Stewart’s racing accomplishments and goals, however the driver from Niagara Falls, Ontario is so much more than just the racing accomplishments that precede him.
This past Wednesday night, Stewart Friesen put on quite a battle to win the Short Track Super Series event at the Outlaw Speedway. Holding off the likes of Cory Costa, Duane Howard, and Matt Sheppard, Friesen was able to park his Halmar 44 into Victory Lane in front of a huge crowd just feet from the car. As he thanked his entire family, crew, the series, and the track, Friesen couldn’t help but smile at seeing his son Parker grab the checkered flag.
As the interviews ended and all the photos had been taken, Stewart had only but a couple more minutes before having to go back to the pit area. In this time, he didn’t decide to head back to the car just yet, Stewart went over to the young fans gathering on the grandstand side of victory lane. As the young fans were so excited to meet him, Stewart shook hands, took some selfies, and signed some autographs all to make the most out of the experience for the young fans.
“Wow that is a great trophy Stew,” said one younger fan.
Stewart replied: “You like it? Here you go bud.” Stewart picked up the human height trophy he had earned from the race and handed it over to the young fan.
“Are you serious?! Do you actually mean it?!” the younger fan replied. With a nod, Friesen may have given this young fan the greatest race experience he will never forget.
Though Stewart Friesen beat all other competitors to win the Outlaw Showdown for the Short Track Super Series, he still managed to be a committed champion to all fans.
