CRSA VS Land Of Legends This Friday & Saturday Night

Story By: TOBY LAGRANGE / CRSA – SODUS, NY – Following a successful trip to the Woodhull Raceway two weeks ago, the winged warriors of the SuperGen Products with Champion Power Equipment CRSA Sprint Car Series return to action this weekend with a double header at the Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua, New York.

This will be rounds four and five of the season for the series and rounds two and three for the special SuperGen Products with Champion Power Equipment CRSA/Land of Legends Challenge Mini Series.

The Friday and Saturday events will be apart of the CRSA/Land of Legends Challenge Weekend. Each event will also pay points towards the overall series champion as well as the mini-series.

On Friday night the top 12 drivers will move into the redraw for the nights A-Main event. The top three finishers from Friday night’s event will be locked into Saturday night’s Maguire’s Family of Dealerships Dash for Cash. On Saturday the three heat race winners will be locked into the dash as well.

Those six drivers will be locked into the top three rows of the $1,000 to win, A-Main event Saturday night. The second and third place finishers in Saturday night’s heat races will redraw for starting spots in rows four through six. The remainder of the field will be lined up from the qualified cars in each heat race and the B-Main.

In addition to the $1,000 to win and $150 to start purse, many random contingencies will also be awarded. A special thanks to Hoosier Racing Tires, Champion Power Equipment, Powder Tech Coatings, & Magsarus Ignitions. Tow Money will be paid to all non-qualified cars at $50.00 per night.

As with each 2018 CRSA event, each event will see the Magsarus Ignitions Electrifying Move of the Race and Powder Tech Powder Coatings Hard Charge Awards presented.

Coming into the weekends racing action, defending series champion Jeff Trombley holds the top spot in the season long point standings. The winner of the last two CRSA events, Trombley holds a 17-point lead over opening day winner Thomas Radivoy. Sydney Prince is third, 25 points back. By virtue of his win on Memorial Day Weekend Trombley holds a three point advantage over Darry Ruggles in the CRSA/Land of Legends Challenge Mini-Series.
