Central PA Legend Car Series To Make Initial Appearance At Big Diamond Friday

Story By: KENNETH BRUCE / BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY – MINERSVILLE, PA – The Central PA Legend Cars will make their first of two appearances this Friday, June 1st at the Big Diamond Speedway.

The fast-growing division will make a return appearance on Friday July 20th. This series like all others have been plagued with rainouts all season long but still have managed to get seven feature events in the books with Austin Bellemare leading the way with three wins. Bellemare is also the current points leader by 10 points over Travis Berry.

The USS Achey Sportsman modifieds will also be part of Friday night’s program culminating with a 20-lap feature event. Veteran Craig Whitmoyer steal leads the way for the track title with young up and coming star Alex Yankowski a mere 11 points behind.

Rounding out the events on Friday night will be the always entertaining Savage 61 Road Runners along with the No Sweat Service Group Street Stocks. These two division continue to put on some of the best competition week after week and look for that to continue in 2018. The points leader in the Road Runner division continues to be Mike Reichert with Chris Heller leading the way for the Street Stocks.

As an added bonus on Friday night, the Vintage Cars will also be in action with the nightcap consisting of an Enduro.

Admission on Friday night is only $10 with kids 10 and under being admitted free.

Gates open at 5:30 with warmups hitting the track at 7:30.

Coming to the speedway on Tuesday June 5th will be the fourth running of the “Anthracite Assault” as part of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series. This event is a North / South Series combined event which brings the stars of both series together for a wild night of action.
