Schedule Changes Made To Next Two Events At Outlaw Speedway
Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – With Mother Nature the only winner on Friday, April 27 at the Outlaw Speedway the track management will make a subtle change to their nightly event sponsors which will not have any effect on the classes of competition on the speedway.
Tyler Siri and his staff will open the month of May on Friday night the 4th with Little League Night where all youngsters wearing a baseball uniform will be admitted into the facility absolutely free. This move will push Mother’s Day Night back to the following week on Friday, May 11 where all moms coming thru the turn stiles will be presented with a nice gift complements of the track.
“We felt that with most Little League baseball player’s right in the thick of the early part of their seasons we would try and get them in a week earlier that originally scheduled to enjoy a night at the track. By moving Mothers Night back a week it puts that event in conjunction with Mother’s Day Weekend so it will be a better fit. This switch has no effect on the classes of competition, gate, start times or admission prices for either night. That according to Tyler Siri, Outlaw Speedway owner.
Siri took a long hard look at the weather forecast last Friday and made a decision early in the day to pull the plug with late day storms in the offing. His decision would prove valuable as heavy storms rolled thru the Yates County area including Dundee around 8:30 pm which surely would have brought the night to a premature end. With the cancellation, the first point races of the 2018 season for all the regular classes will start on May 4 as part of Little League Night.
On both May 4 and 11, 2018 Super 7 Shows will high light the night of competition as all the regular classes will see action on the fast 4/10 of a mile clay oval. The Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Big Block/Small Block Modified’s will head up the card along with the Crate Sportsman and those classy looking Street Stocks. Also, the Decker Farmers Insurance sponsored Hobby Stocks and IMCA Modifieds will be in action along with the Doug Gross Construction Crate Late Models, the 4 cylinders and the Winners Circle Deli Bandit divisions.
The May 11 show will see the first of three Empire Series races for the Decker Farmers Insurance IMCA Modifieds with other events scheduled for July 28 in conjunction with the Summer Nationals as well as September 27 as part of the Fall Nationals event.
Also on May 11 it will be the first of five kids bicycle give-a-ways which will be held throughout the 2018 season. Youngsters will be allowed to register as soon as the main gates open.
Pit gates for both nights open at 4:00 pm with the main grandstand seating area opening at 5:00 pm with free rides on the Monster Truck, “Outlaw Crusher” around the facility starting when the main gates open. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:00 pm with the first green flag of the night waving at 7:00 pm.
Both nights will find pit admission set at $30 with general admission grandstand seating priced at $13 for adults and just $10 for seniors. As always kids 12 and under are admitted absolutely free at Outlaw Speedway.
