Megan Ciglich Preparing For First Full Racing Season With Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour
Story By: JEFF CIGLICH / DIRT MODIFIED NOSTALGIA TOUR – NORTH AUGUSTA, ONT – 16-year-old South Grenville District High School student Megan Ciglich got her feet wet running in the Modified class with the DMNT in 2017. The former kart racer had a challenging season and is expected to still be in the learning curve mode in 2018.
She began her racing career in go-karts when she was just eight years old, competing at Brockville, Cornwall, Can Am, Route 58 and Oswego.
Expected to compete in the entire series, Ciglich has quickly pegged the Paradise Speedway in Geneva, NY as her favorite where the small confines make her feel comfortable. “It reminds me a little of the kart track at Cornwall” she explained. She will get two shots at Paradise this year as the DMNT will be there on July 21st and then again on August 4th.
Goals for 2018 are pretty simple “I just want to improve every time out and have fun. I also want to gain the other racers trust and respect out there and not put myself in a bad situation”
Along with Mom and Dad, Ciglich wants to thank Paul Pekkonen for helping with the racing operation. Ciglich is currently taking Auto Mechanics in high school and will be applying for Specialist High Skilled Major next year.
