Jared Miley To Begin Season With “Chiller Thriller” At Port Royal Speedway

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / JARED MILEY RACING – PITTSBURGH, PA – Recently appointed to the Joe Corrado-owned, Blue Mountain Energy-backed, No. 10 super late model, Pittsburgh’s own Jared Miley will begin his 2018 campaign with a trip to Central Pennsylvania on March 24, this time working to tame the notorious “Speed Palace” in Port Royal for a four-figure payday.

Miley, a six-time winner during super late model competition in 2017, will join the ULMS Racing Series during his trip to Port Royal Speedway in late-March. Labeled as the “Chiller Thriller,” the $3,000-to-win program will be Port Royal’s first major super late model event of the 2018 season, also acting as the season lidlifter for the Pennsylvania-based touring Series.

“The Jet” is certainly no stranger to ULMS Racing Series competition, earning two victories with the Series in 2017, one at Thunder Mountain Speedway near Brookville, Pa., and one at Eriez Speedway near Erie, as well as a Series championship in 2015. On the whole, Miley’s racing resume reeks of success, earning 20 victories between two late model disciplines, super and crate, during the last three seasons, all highlighted with a $6,000 top prize during a trip to Eriez in 2016.

“I’ve been racing with my family for a lot of years,” added Miley. “We have a great connection and we have the tools it takes to be competitive. Adding Joe [Corrado] to the equation is only going to make our potential greater.”

Miley’s last visit to the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” resulted in a main event start against the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series in late-August. Although scored 24th at the conclusion of the 50-lap main, Miley’s evening efforts were more than satisfactory; missing automatic main event qualification through his respective heat race by one position, soon winning one of two Last Chance Showdowns to punch his ticket into the $10,000-to-win program.

“We’ve been hard at work. A lot of things needed to come together to make a deal like this happen, but I’m happy to have Joe Corrado as a car owner. He brings a lot to the table and we are all excited to race with him,” Jared Miley explained on behalf of his family and race team. “He’s obviously a successful car owner and knows what it takes to earn wins and championships. My plan is to continue that line of success with him.”
