Max Stambaugh To Start 2018 With All Star Circuit Of Champions

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / MAX STAMBAUGH RACING – ELIDA, OH – In hopes of jumpstarting the new year with a victory lane appearance in the Sunshine State, “Mad Max” Stambaugh will kick-off his 2018 campaign by joining the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions in sunny, northern Florida.

Stambaugh, the 2017 Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions Rookie of the Year, will pilot his family-owned, Hampshire Racing Engines-powered, No. 5 sprinter during his trip south of the Mason-Dixon, visiting Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala and Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville. The Elida, Ohio, native hopes to pick up right where he left off and add to an Arctic Cat All Star resume that includes one top-five and 13 top-ten finishes.

“The intent is to run the All Stars full-time again in 2018,” Stambaugh said, who highlighted his 2017 All Star campaign with a podium run at Eldora Speedway in September. “We are going to start the year with the All Stars and see how things unfold week by week. Florida will set the tone for us. If we can come out of there with a handful of positive finishes, I think we’ll have a much better mindset moving forward.”

Tentatively, Stambaugh’s 2018 Florida campaign will consist of five events in eight days; three at Bubba Raceway Park stretching from February 1-3, and two consecutive at Volusia Speedway Park on February 7-8. All five events will award $5,000 top prizes.

“I can’t thank my dad, Tim Stambaugh, and my uncle, Ted Stambaugh, enough for making all of this possible for me,” Stambaugh continued. “David Diller has stepped up and will be helping us turn the wrenches. I think we have a lot of potential and the experience necessary to be competitive. A full year on the All Star tour in 2017 helped us prepare during the last few months. I’m ready to go.”
