Lots Of New Things Building For Exciting Year At Bethel Motor Speedway

Story By: PETER REYNOLDS / BETHEL MOTOR SPEEDWAY – WHITE LAKE, NY – Bethel Speedway is cranking up the excitement for the 2018 racing season with major changes in key roles, and a schedule to please race fans of the masses.

Jeffrey Lefcourt, an avid Legend Car racer, proven business executive, and new Bethel Speedway owner, has put together a new management team for the 59 year old quarter mile paved oval.

George Van Arsdall Jr. has been named speedway General Manager, responsible for the day to day business operations, and overseeing “race day” activities, both on and off the track. He has over 34 years of experience in racing, and 15 years in different capacities at Bethel Speedway. George is also a former racer, crew chief, and car builder. George had retired from an official’s capacity for the 2017 season, to become a member of the track’s then advisory board.

Peter “Crackers” Reynolds has also joined the management team as: Promoter and Director of Marketing & Sponsorship. “Crackers”, as he is better known to the racing community, will be promoting Bethel Speedway in the racing community, and overseeing Bethel’s marketing and sponsorship program, along with media relations. “Crackers” has been around short track racing for over 50 years, being a former racer himself, has owned race cars for 20 years, and was the Marketing Director at OCFS in 2006/2007 for World Racing Group.

The Bethel management team is busy filling other key positions for the upcoming racing season, as well as, preparing for an exciting 2018 racing schedule starting in April and running through November 6th *tentative. Racing on Saturday nights will include: Legend Cars, Bandoleros, Dirt Sportsman, BMS Asphalt Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks, and 4 cylinder Stocks

Several special events are being scheduled with visiting racing organizations, including, but not limited to: TQ midgets, Vintage Modifieds and Midgets clubs, PLUS some extra distance races for increased purses, including LegendStock and Brett Deyo’s Short Track Super Series Sportsman Race.

The 2017 Racing Champions will be crowned at Bethel’s Annual Awards banquet on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 at 6:00pm at The Sullivan Hotel, Rock Hill, NY.
