Stafford Motor Speedway Schedule Out For 2018 Season

Column By: MATTHEW WIERNASZ / RPW – STAFFORD SPRINGS, CT – Stafford Motor Speedway released their 2018 schedule on Tuesday for their 60th season with the NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler on Friday April 27 through the 29 featuring 200 laps for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour along with the five NASCAR Whelen All American Series SK Modifieds, Late Models, Limited Late Models, SK Lights, and the Street Stocks along with the Mr. Rooter Trucks and the Vintage All-Stars.

The first Friday night program of the 2018 season will be held on May 4. There will be an extra distance race for the Street Stocks with a 25 lap feature on Friday, May 11. The Valenti Modified Racing Series will make the first of two appearances to the Connecticut half mile oval on Friday, May 18. The Dunleavy’s Truck & Trailer Repair Modifiedz Night will return on Memorial Day weekend with a 40-lap SK Light Modified race and 50 laps for the SK Modifieds on Friday, May 25.

New to the schedule for 2018 will be open modified races with first one being held on Friday, June 8 for 80 laps and the second one will be held on Friday, July 13. The NAPA Auto Parts SK 5K will happen on Friday, June 29 for a 100 lap race. The SK Modifieds will also have a second extra distance race two weeks later with the (40+13).

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will return for their second of three appearances on Friday, August 3. The Valenti Modified Series will return for their final appearance of the 2018 season on Friday, August 31.

The final Friday night race program of the year will be on Friday, September 14

The NAPA Auto Parts Fall Final will close out the 2018 season on Saturday and Sunday September 29 and 30 with a 150 lap event for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.
