Danica Patrick To Call It A Career In 2018
Column By: MATTHEW WIERNASZ / RPW – HOMESTEAD, FL – Danica Patrick made an emotional announcement on Friday to the media at Homestead-Miami Speedway that this season will be her last full time season. Patrick is planning to race in the Daytona 500 and in the Indianapolis 500 next season before hanging up the helmet.
Patrick made 189 starts in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series registering no wins or top five’s but did receive seven top 10 finishes and one pole award at the 2013 Daytona 500. Her average finish this season has been 23rd and her average starting position has been 22nd.

She is thankful for all the opportunities she has gotten in the sport. Patrick is ready for the next phase in life as the emotions broke down for her during the news conference. She thanked everybody from her family to Dale Earnhardt, Jr and his sister Kelley, Bob Parsons from GoDaddy, along with Gene Haas and Tony Stewart.
Patrick always wants to be remembered as a great driver. Patrick will start 25th in Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season finale.
