New V6-Powered Class Joining Merrittville Weekly Line-Up In 2018

Story By: JIM IRVINE / MERRITTVILLE SPEEDWAY – THOROLD, ONT – When Merrittville Speedway’s 67th season begins in 7 months time – a new division will join the Saturday Night Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Racing Series line up.

The V6 Engine is one of the most produced and it’s time to power up a new entry level division with it,” said Merrittville Owner Don Spiece, “the new division will use street cars with safety modifications – everything else is stock as you found it … the new division will let drivers make an impact on the sport without making an impact on their finances.”

The new division will utilize GM, Ford and Chrysler Models and will provide competitors the opportunity to join in the fun, thrills and excitement of Saturday Night Racing. Weekly events will include a winner’s trophy and a purse for the top 3. Season long points will crown a champion.

“A Claim Rule will be in place to keep costs down,” added Spiece, “the division isn’t about race cars … it’s about cars that race. The only thing we don’t have in place is a Division Name – we’d like the competitors to help us … Fun Stocks … Mid Stocks … Factory Stocks … Pure Stocks or another title?”

Rules for the new V6 Division can be found at http://merrittville.proboards.com/thread/4213/rules-new-division-coming-2018
