Holtgraver Heads To Port Royal Looking To Tame The “Speed Palace”
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY HOLTGRAVER MOTORSPORTS – PITTSBURGH, PA – Since making the statement that his 2017 campaign will come to a close at the conclusion of the Commonwealth Clash at Lernerville Speedway, “Downtown” Danny Holtgraver has since made a schedule change and will now rejoin the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Saturday, October 14, at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania.
Holtgraver is a frequent flyer at the Juniata County “Speed Palace,” recently making a charge from 18th to finish ninth during the Night Before The Tuscarora 50 against the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.
“It has definitely grown into one of my favorite tracks to visit,” Holtgraver explained. “It’s incredible to see what the staff has done over the last few years to improve the conditions for racers, as well as the fans. Not to mention, it kinda fits my driving style. I’ve always found some success there. Hopefully we can do something right this weekend and contend for a win.”
During Holtgraver’s most recent run-in with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, the Pittsburgh native charged forward from 20th to finish 11th at Lernerville Speedway on Saturday, September 23; enough to guarantee KSE Hard Charger honors. The former Lernerville Speedway track champion owns three victories in 2017, each awarding $3,000.
