Cory Haas Will Chase $20,000 At Lincoln’s Dirt Classic
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TRONE OUTDOOR MOTORSPORTS – YORK, PA – Cory Haas finished inside the top-ten 13 times at Lincoln (PA) Speedway during his 2017 campaign, nine of which inside the top-five.
Despite his level of consistency, an attribute also displayed during action at Williams Grove Speedway where Haas finished inside the top-ten on five occasions including a pair of runner-up performances, victory lane has eluded the York native. Haas will work to put that theory to rest this weekend and earn one of the largest paydays on the Central Pennsylvania circuit.
The 4th Annual Dirt Classic will headline action at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, September 23, awarding $20,000-to-win and $1,000-to-start. Haas finished 13th during the Dirt Classic main event in 2016, qualifying for the 40-lap program through his pair of respective heat races.
“This is a big one. Winning the Dirt Classic would be a game changer, for sure. It would be biggest win of my career, no doubt,” Haas explained, pilot of the Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Eagle Steel/Trone Outdoor Advertising/York PB Truss/No. 39. “We’ve been fast at Lincoln all season. I think the statistics speak for themselves. The best thing we can do is treat the Dirt Classic like any other race and head in there with a solid game plan. Hopefully we can get one for John Trone.”
In addition to the 4th Annual Dirt Classic, Cory Haas and Trone Outdoor Motorsports will also visit Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday, September 22, for the National Open Tune-up, all after a short trip to Susquehanna (PA) Speedway later this evening (September 21) for Thursday Night Thunder.
“This is a big weekend,” Haas stated. “There is a lot of money on the line. I’m thankful for the opportunity.”
