Williams Grove National Open Next For Brock Zearfoss

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Working to defeat the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at Williams Grove Speedway for a second time in 2017, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss and part-time car owner, Aaron Long, will join the Greatest Show On Dirt during the annual Champion Racing Oil National Open throughout the upcoming weekend, attempting to snag the $50,000 top prize up for grabs on Saturday, September 30.

Zearfoss, who beat the Outlaws aboard the Aaron Long-owned/H&N Landscaping/RV 4 Wheel Drive/Leahys Auto Body & Towing/No. 58 on July 21 during the Summer Nationals preliminary program, will enter all three nights of the Champion Racing Oil National Open, kicking off officially with two, full preliminary events awarding $10,000 each on Thursday and Friday, September 28 and 29.

“You have to put yourself in a position early, especially during an Outlaw format. We did that in July and it worked out for the best,” Zearfoss explained regarding his victory against the Outlaws during the 2017 Summer Nationals. “I think Aaron Long and I have what it takes to repeat that performance. He provides me with great equipment and I’m proud to be a part of his race team. We have a lot of work to do this week, but we’ll be ready to go.”

The “Jonestown Jet” will enter the weekend with three recent starts to his credit, one of which resulting in a fourth place finish at Susquehanna (PA) Speedway on Thursday, September 21.

In addition, Zearfoss was scored 16th during the Williams Grove Speedway World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Tune-up on September 22, followed by a 13th place finish during the $20,000-to-win, 4th Annual Dirt Classic at Lincoln Speedway on September 23.

“We weren’t where we needed to be during the tune-up,” Zearfoss noted, the recently crowned Port Royal Speedway champion. “We now know what we need to do, so we’ll put that into practice beginning Thursday.”
