Time Is Running Out On The Point Battles At Albany-Saratoga

Column By: LAURIE FALLIS / RPW – MALTA, NY – With a good weather report of no rain in the forecast for Friday nights action at the “Great Race Place,” Mother nature will be leaving the victories to be settled by the drivers.

On tap for this week’s events will be “Back To School Kids Raffle Night.” This can come in handy to many kids as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

As always, the fast and furious Modifieds will be ready to do battle on the 4/10 mile track. With only two point shows remaining, the action is heating up with only 56 points separating the top five fighting for that exclusive track title. If you are a racing fan, this is the place to be! I can promise you. You’ll see some of the best dirt track racing along with the top drivers in the northeast manhandling their powerful machines.

Sportsman drivers and crews will have an extra busy night of racing as they will be having double features. First is there make up race from June 23rd, but the drivers must keep their machines in one piece as the next feature will be the special “Sowle’s Trailer Repair Sportsman’s Event” paying $1000.00 to the winner. You can bet that many drivers will be licking their chops trying to get the Victory and taking home the extra prize money.

Look for a huge field of cars that always put on a great race, especially fighting for a little more incentive in the envelope at the end of the night. Thanks Mike Sowle.

Limited sportsman will also be having their feature which also has a full field of cars competing. It’s great to see so many up and coming young drivers in the sport and, maybe, someday looking to move up in class and dream of being our stars of the future and getting that taste of victory.

The ever exciting Pro Stock class division will be showing their talent on the track where any one driver can bring home the victory. They put on a show you must see from start to finish. You’ll be glad you did as they race door handle to door handle each every lap. This class sure is a fans favorite.

The Vintage class will also be bringing there cars to show off some fine machines of the past to bring back the old days of racing.

As you can see, there will be a full night of exciting action-packed racing for the whole family at an affordable price. General admission is still only $10.00 with children, 11 and under, only $2.00.

Malta is a place with great food and the price is right. Fif I mrnyion the racing is AWESOME? Gates open at 5:00 and racing starts at 7:00.

OH! One last note, I cannot be accountable for Mother Nature. I am only going by the weatherman’s report on the forecast for Friday, and as racing fans, we all know too well, anything can happen on the track and in the skies.

Hope to see you all at the track. You don’t want to miss it. EVERYONE, please be safe in your travels.
