Stambaugh Focused For All Star / Labor Day Weekend In Ohio

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / RAY MARSHALL MOTORSPORTS – ELIDA, OH – Leading Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions Rookie of the Year contender, Max Stambaugh, will enter Labor Day weekend with high hopes and big plans, working to earn not only the largest payday of his young career, but the first Arctic Cat All Star victory of his career; a feat certainly not out of the question.

Stambaugh, who is currently fourth in the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions title chase, will join “America’s Series” at Attica Raceway Park on Saturday, September 2, for the Dirt Classic Ohio, followed by the Pete Jacobs Memorial at Wayne County Speedway on Sunday, September 3. Each event will award $10,000 top prizes, as well as full points toward the Arctic Cat All Star title chase.

In addition, the pilot of the Ray Marshall Motorsports entry will also participate in the Attica Raceway Park Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket make-up feature that was originally scheduled for June 16. The make-up program, awarding a $5,000 top prize, will be conducted before Dirt Classic Ohio competition commences.

“This is a big weekend for us. It’s a big weekend for everyone, but even bigger for us because we are still hunting for that first All Star win. Earning $10,000 while doing it would be pretty cool,” Stambaugh explained, who owns eight top-ten finishes during Arctic Cat All Star competition in 2017. “We expect to be up against a great group of cars all weekend. Racing with that level only make us better. We’ve proved our potential on a lot of occasions this year, so we hope to capitalize on that on Saturday and Sunday night.”

Stambaugh will enter the weekend with a recent top-ten performance to his credit, charging from 11th to finish sixth during the Open Wheel Championships preliminary program at Atomic Speedway on Friday night, August 25. “Mad Max” earned his way into the $5,000-to-win program by finishing third during his respective heat race, all after earning the fastest qualifying time during his heat race group.
