NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Heading To Seekonk Speedway

Column By: MATTHEW WIERNASZ / RPW – SEEKONK, MA – The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour heads to Seekonk Speedway this Saturday as Timmy Solomito will head to The Cement Palace with a two point lead over Rowan Pennink but do not count out the top five as Ryan Preece trails nine points behind Solomito with Doug Coby 17 points behind and Justin Bonsignore rounding out the top five as he trails 19 points behind Solomito.

Solomito has advantage at Seekonk as he the defending winner of this event where he led 40 laps in the event. Justin Bonsignore finished second in the event where he led three laps. Doug Coby started on the pole and finished third where he led a race high 108 laps. Rowan Pennink finished in eighth after starting 18th, Ryan Preece did not compete in the event as he was racing full time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for JD Motorsports.

The last time out for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was at the fastest world half mile Bristol Motor Speedway, Patrick Emerling picked up his first career win leading all 150 laps in the event. Before his win at Bristol, his best finish on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was second at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. It was a good day for the top four out five in the points as Doug Coby finished second. Justin Bonsignore finished third while Ryan Preece finish fifth and Rowan Pennink finish seventh. Point leader Timmy Solomito finished in 15th.

Joining the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour on Saturday at Seekonk will be the Late Models, Sportsman, and the Trucks. Racing action will begin at 6:00 p.m.
