Kevan Cook & Chuck Powelczyk Win At Brewerton Before The Rain
Story By: DAVE MEDLER / BREWERTON SPEEDWAY – BREWERTON, NY – Kevan Cook and Chuck Powelczyk were feature winners Friday night at the Brewerton Speedway before the rains moved in on lap-4 of the Modified feature ending the race night.
The Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified and SUNY Canton Sportsman features will be run on a later date. Keep monitoring the speedway website for the dates.
In the 20-lap Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux Late Model feature Kevan Cook and Dale Caswell swapped the lead back and forth with Cook making the winning pass on lap-6. The battle for second on back was tight and came down to the final checkers. Dale Caswell, Kyle Sopaz, Bret Belden and Jason Occhino finished second through fifth.
Chuck Powelczyk and Nate Powers put on a close bumper-to-bumper and side-by-side battle that saw Powelczyk pick up the narrow win. Quinn Wallis, Jacobe Palmiter and Chris Bonoffski finished third through fifth.
The Brewerton Speedway will be back racing on Friday, August 11 when Scott Jeffery’s Performance Plus presents a night of fast, family, affordable dirt track action. Racing will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Firehouse Subs Mod Lites and JB Logging & Firewood 4-Cylinders.
The August 11 show will also feature One-on-One Spectator races for the second and final time this year. However, this time around it will be trucks and SUV’s ONLY. Every time we do One-on-One races there is always a large part of the field that is trucks and SUV’s. For you truck/SUV pilots, next week the stage is yours alone. No cars this time around. So get your helmet and your game face and we will see you next Friday night!
Adult grandstand admission is $12 with everyone 18 years old and younger FREE. Pit admission is $27 participant, $30 nonparticipant.. Grandstands open at 5:30 with racing at 7:30.
