Four Top-5 Finishes For Pauch Racing Last Weekend

Story By: MANDEE PAUCH / PAUCH RACING – FRENCHTOWN, NJ – The Pauch Racing team together collected four top-five finishes this past week out of five races and three different divisions.

The action began on Wednesday at Action Track USA with Billy Pauch Jr. behind the wheel of the No.27 SpeedSTR and the No.X 600 Micro Sprint.

Pauch Jr. finished second in his SpeedSTR heat from fourth, placing him in the redraw for the main event.

Pauch Jr. drew the pole and led 23 out of the 30 laps.

“The car was too tight,” he said. “Unfortunately we ended up second.”

Pauch Jr. drove through his 600 Micro Sprint heat to win it from fifth, placing him on the outside of the third row for the 60-lap main event.

“We were driving second and third the whole race, which would have put us in the championship hunt,” added Pauch Jr. “Unfortunately we were taken out by another car and cost us the championship.”

Saturday evening saw Pauch Sr. at Bridgeport Speedway with the No.15 Big Block Modified.

Pauch Sr. started third in his heat race; jumped out to an early lead and took the heat win.

Pauch Sr. started fifth for the 25-lap main event.

“We drove up to second and faded to fourth,” he said. “I think we’re on the right track. We’re in the right direction so hopefully we’ll get it sorted out. We’ll be back for September 2nd and hopefully win our first race there this year.”

Pauch Sr. capped off the night with a fourth-place finish.

Pauch Jr. was at New Egypt Speedway, his Saturday night home track.

Pauch Jr. finished second from his fourth-place starting spot in his heat race.

“We started 10th and were able to get to second,” Pauch Jr. said. “Were too tight. We still had a nice solid night and will go on to next week.”

Due to a Friday night cancelation, Big Diamond Speedway moved their Friday night show to Sunday.

Pauch Jr. started fifth and drove through to win his heat race, placing him ninth for the main event.

“We were up to third,” noted Pauch Jr. “We didn’t get the right restarts. We ended up finishing fifth. We have the chassis hooked up now, we just have to get a few of the bugs worked out for the big races.”

Pauch Jr. will be at New Egypt Speedway on Wednesday for the Jersey Rush and Big Diamond Speedway on Friday for the prelude to the Coalcracker. Pauch Sr. will be taking the weekend off and will be back in action on Tuesday at Georgetown Speedway on August 29th.
