DIRTcar Championships To Be Crowned Saturday At Airborne Park

Story By: ROBBY KNOWLES / AIRBORNE PARK SPEEDWAY – PLATTSBURGH, NY – The 2017 DIRTcar point battles will come to a close this weekend at Airborne Park Speedway. P.M. Leary Restoration and Freihofers will present the night of racing for the Egglefield Ford 358 Modifieds, Fidelis Care Sportsman, Poirier’s True Value Renegades, Busch Beer Mini-Mods and Strictly Stocks.

The Modified division will run an extra distance event, 50 laps for $2,000 to win and $200 to take the green flag. Heat races and regular distance features will be run for the other four divisions.

A strong field of Modifieds are expected for Saturday’s event. Drivers from the Province of Quebec and Ontario have already expressed interest and are ready to challenge the locals for the $2,000 prize. The gloves will be off as Chris Raabe has already locked up the point championship and drivers will be all out for the win.

Renegade, Mini-Mod and Strictly Stock point battles extend through the final scheduled event on September 24. Those three divisions do not run under the DIRTcar banner, thus the reason for the longer point battle.

The first green flag flies at 7 P.M. with grandstands opening at 5. Admission prices are just $12 for adults with kids ages 12 and under free of charge. For more information visit airborneparkspeedway.com or on Facebook at Airborne Park Speedway.
