“Not a bad way for us to start the week,” Dietrich explained. “We have a few things that we need to clean up, but I think we’ll be ready to go once Thursday gets here. I don’t think we have too much planned during the next few days. We’re definitely anxious to get this weekend going.”
With the Capitani Classic in the books, “Double-D” will now focus on the big prize; the 57th running of the 5-hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals. The four-day campaign, the world’s premier sprint car event, will hand out a purse nearing $1,000,000 from August 9-12 including a $150,000 top prize during the Saturday night finale. Danny Dietrich will attempt to qualify for the “big dance” on Thursday evening, August 10. If accomplished, Dietrich’s Saturday night A-main start will be a second in three years, finishing 15th in 2015 after securing a starting spot through Friday night’s last chance program.
