Brock Zearfoss Gets Back To Victory Lane At Port Royal
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – For the second time in 2017, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss “parked it” on the Port Royal Speedway victory lane stage, this time charging from the outside of row three during weekly competition on Saturday, August 5.
Each of Zearfoss’ victories at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” have occurred during weekly action, now third in the track championship standings with only six sprint car appearances remaining on the 2017 schedule.
“This feeling will never get old,” Brock Zearfoss explained, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Meckley’s Limestone/Central Builders Supply Co./Berkebile Oil Company/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/No. 3Z. “We’ve been clicking at Port Royal all season. The consistency really speaks for itself. I don’t think the championship is completely out of reach. Not only do we have our eye on the title, but there are some big paying shows on the fall agenda. I want to pull back on that stage again every soon.”
With an upcoming break in the 2017 Port Royal Speedway schedule, the “Jonestown Jet” will utilize the time away from points racing and make the trek west to the Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio. The state-of-the-art facility, recently making the transformation from asphalt to dirt, will host the inaugural Great Lakes Dirt Nationals during the upcoming weekend, awarding $3,000 during preliminary action on Friday, August 11, followed by a $15,000-to-win finale on Saturday, August 12.
Zearfoss, now a three-time winner during main event competition in 2017, one of which against the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at Williams Grove Speedway, has yet to visit Mansfield Motor Speedway, but hopes to create a perfect first impression for his team, as well as his fans.
“We’re really excited to head west. We’ve heard a lot of great things,” Zearfoss said. “I know the promoter has been working really hard to put that place on the map. I’m pumped to have the opportunity to support one of their biggest events on the schedule.”
