Trenca Joining World of Outlaws For Races At Ransomville & Ohsweken

Story By: SHAWN MILLER / MUCCI MOTORSPORTS – CLAY, NY – Joe Trenca has a pair of World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series events on the horizon.

The Mucci Motorsports competitor will compete with the ‘Greatest Show on Dirt’ this Sunday at Ransomville Speedway in Ransomville, N.Y., for The Big “R” Outlaw Shootout and next Tuesday at Ohsweken Speedway in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada, for the Arrow Express Six Nations Showdown.

Sandwiched between the two races will be a 360ci winged sprint car race at Ohsweken Speedway next Monday.

“We’re excited to get back 410 racing,” Trenca said. “We took last weekend off and went through everything. We stripped the cars back down and made sure everything was square and nothing was wrong. We did find some stuff that was hindering our performances.”

Trenca placed 12th during his debut at Ransomville Speedway in 2015. He returned to the track earlier this season and was credited with a 15th-place result after being involved in a vicious crash.

“I like the place,” he said. “I hope the track conditions are good and we can have a good night of racing. With the way the World of Outlaws format is we’ll have to qualify well. That will be key.”

Trenca competed at Ohsweken Speedway once last season and his career-best result at the dirt oval is an eighth-place finish during the 2014 edition of the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals.

“It’s one of my favorite tracks,” he said. “We usually run pretty decent there. Hopefully Monday will help us get some laps on the track. When we ran real good at the Canadian Nationals we were hugging the inside, going as slow as you could go, and we’ve been good coming from the back by hammering the top. You can throw sliders. The track gets wide and racy. I always look forward to racing there.”
