Zearfoss Will Visit Selinsgrove For Ray Tilley Classic June 16th
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Brock Zearfoss has been on a roll at Port Royal Speedway in 2017, recently recording his ninth top-ten finish with a ninth place performance on Saturday evening, June 10; starting in the exact same position.
In fact, all but two starts at the Port Royal “Speed Palace” have resulted in top-ten finishes for the “Jonestown Jet,” continuing his quest for a first-ever Port Royal Speedway track championship. Zearfoss will revisit the Juniata County Fairgrounds half-mile on Saturday, June 17.
“Consistency is definitely key,” Brock Zearfoss explained, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Meckley’s Limestone/Central Builders Supply Co./Berkebile Oil Company/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Invisible Glass/Walker Performance Filtration/No. 3Z. “The only thing hurting us currently is that all of the guys ahead of me in points are still finishing ahead of us. Regardless, it’s tough for us to complain about top-ten finishes. Good things will continue to come if we keep busting our butts.”
In other recent results, Zearfoss’ visit to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, June 9, nearly resulted in a top-ten finish until disaster halted his progress. While piloting the Aaron Long-owned, H&N Landscaping/RV 4 Wheel Drive/Leahys Auto Body & Towing backed No. 58, Zearfoss was making a bid for the eighth position, a charge that started in row nine, when contact with a fellow competitor ended all momentum.
“We were on a roll at Williams Grove on Friday night,” Zearfoss said, “I was actually making a move for eighth when we made contact with another car. Unfortunately, we were both battling for the same piece of real estate. Aaron Long and I have been making leaps and bounds with his car. We proved that on Friday night. All we need to do now is put together a string of solid finishes and we’ll be in great shape.”
With the USAC Silver Crown Series invading Williams Grove Speedway, Zearfoss will turn his attention toward the annual Ray Tilley Classic at Selinsgrove (PA) Speedway on Friday evening, June 16. It will be Zearfoss’ first start of the 2017 season at the Selinsgrove half-mile, planning to return on at least one other occasion when the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions visit in mid-September.
