Second Round Of Triple Crown Series Ready For Merrittville Saturday

Story By: JIM IRVINE / MERRITTVILLE SPEEDWAY – THOROLD, ONT – When Archer Truck Services presents June 10th’s Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Racing Series Event at Merrittville Speedway – Round 2 of the Tomaski Racing Triple Crown Series will be the featured event or will it be the Vansickle Pet Valu and Groomingdale’s Best Appearing Dog Contest?

Before the Big Dogs take to the track Saturday June 10th for Feature Events for all 5 Divisions – Big Dogs … Little Dogs and all breeds in between will have their own time in front of the crowd. Race Fans and Race Teams alike are encouraged to bring along their dogs for the annual Best Appearing Dog Contest presented by Vansickle Pet Valu.

“For many of us in the stands and in the pits,” said (Merrittville owner) Don Spiece, “racing is a family sport … and that family includes a dog … it’s their night to join in the fun and not be left home.”

Best Appearing Dog Contest Entrants will all receive treats from Vansickle Pet Valu and Groomingdale’s with prizes for category winners too as voted on by fan cheers.

Back on May 13th’s Impact Promotions Night, Tony Kelly was the only driver able to make an impact in winning the Series Opener before rain delayed the balance of the features.

After two straight wins for Kelly – Alex Riley’s two 2017 wins were separated by a single win by Leroy Buscumb May 27th.

Year in and year out the Tomaski Racing Triple Crown Series for the Central Fabricating & Welding 4 Cylinders provides some of the best action and 2016’s version was no exception.

Kyle Rothwell won the three race series by just three points over his hired driver Tyler Lafantaisie while in the overall points … it was Lafantaisie over Rothwell by just six.
