New Promoters In Place At The Glen Ridge Motorsports Park

Column By: RAY ROGERS / FULTONVILLE, NY – The past few years have been a struggle for the Glen Ridge Motorsports Park. With dwindling car counts and crowds below expectations, it was time for a change. On Saturday I learned there would be change and that new management would be taking over.

Wednesday evening, a press conference was held and it was announced that long-time racing supporters Ray Sefrin and Mike Parillo have secured the lease for the little track on the hill, taking over for Pete Demetraszek. Both Parillo and Sefrin are well-respected car owners and business men in the Mohawk Valley.

Racing action will switch to Sunday nights starting June 18th with a warm ups and testing session. Then, on June 25th, racing action begins with gates opening at 4 pm, hot laps at 5:30 and race time will be 6 pm.

Ticket prices will cut as well. Grandstand admission will be $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $2 for kids, 11 and under.

Another big change at the track will see the 602 Crate Modifieds as the headline division, allowing any driver with a DIRT legal 602 Sportsman to compete weekly.

Jim King will be at the mic on Sunday’s calling all the action and Rob Hazer has been named race director and will be heading up the public relations department.
