‘Mad Max’ Stambaugh To Visit Illinois & Iowa With All Stars

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / RAY MARSHALL MOTORSPORTS – ELIDA, OH – Continuing their rookie campaign with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, “Mad Max” Stambaugh and Ray Marshall Motorsports will head west, this time joining “America’s Series” for a trio of programs throughout areas of Illinois and Iowa on Friday through Sunday, June 9-11.

Stambaugh, who recently teamed with Crew Chief Rick Ferkel, will visit Lincoln (IL) Speedway, Macon (IL) Speedway and 34 (IA) Raceway, respectively, during his trip west with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, continuing his chase for Rookie of the Year honors, as well as a first-ever Arctic Cat All Star main event victory.

“We’re excited to head west,” Stambaugh said. “It’s a great opportunity for our team. With all of the wet weather we’ve been having on the road, the last month or so has been pretty quiet for our team. Getting to race three times in one weekend will help us get back into a positive rhythm and build some momentum. Hopefully we can continue what we’ve been doing.”

The former two-time NRA Sprint Invaders championship runner-up will enter the upcoming weekend with two recent starts during Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition, taking part in events at Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park during a visit to Western Pennsylvania. Stambaugh qualified for each of the $5,000-to-win main events, finishing 15th at Don Martin’s Lernerville Speedway on June 2, followed by a 12th place performance at Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday, June 3. The pair of main event starts was strong enough to keep Stambaugh on top of the Arctic Cat All Star Rookie of the Year chase, as well as sixth in the overall championship.

“I really can’t thank Ray Marshall enough. We have our ups and downs, but we stay focused,” Stambaugh explained, driver of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine & Fabricators/Fastenal of Kenton/No. 33M. “I’ve learned more this year than any of my years prior. We have a ton of potential. I think our time to be up front is coming soon.”
