Big Month Of June Coming Up At Albany-Saratoga

Story By: MATT KEITH / ALBANY-SARATOGA SPEEDWAY – MALTA, NY – A “big” month of June is on tap at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway as the historic Malta oval tries to move on from a rainy first month and half of the season.

It all kicks off on Friday, June 2, with the “New York State Stock Car Association Night,” The “Sowle Trailer Repair Sportsman Series,” and the “King of the Dirt Pro Stock Series.” Two days later on Sunday, June 4, the Electric City Riders Motorcycle Riders and Swap Meet will be at the “Great Race Place.”

Friday night action resumes on Friday, June 9, with the annual “Mark Hughes Memorial Sportsman Event” and the “Featherfoot Pro Stock Series”.

On Wednesday, June 14, promoter Lyle DeVore has added a regular show to the season program to make up for recent rain outs. Information regarding this event can be found on the track web site and other social media venues.

The speedway will return to action two nights later on Friday, June 16,, with the “Hoosier Daddy Father’s Day Special” featuring the popular USAC Midgets in a return visit to the speedway.

Friday, June 23, will be a “Mr. Dirt Track USA” qualifying event for the Modified and Sportsman divisions.

Coming up on Tuesday, June 27, will be the event of the summer–Brett Hearn’s “Big Show 9” will take to the speedway as part of the Super DIRTcar NE Series. The track regulars in the Modified division including Hearn, Kenny Tremont, Ronnie Johnson, Marc Johnson and Peter Britten will stage an epic battle with Super DIRTcar Series regulars such as Billy Decker, Matt Sheppard, Jimmy Phelps, Stewart Friesen and an appearance by Late Model star Tim McCreadie.
The month closes out on Friday, June 30, with a massive fireworks show to celebrate the upcoming Independence Day. The “Featherfoot Warrior Pro Stock Series” will also be in action that evening.
