Zearfoss Rallies For Top-Five During Kevin Gobrecht Classic
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – After losing two consecutive nights of competition due to Mother Nature, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss made the tow to Susquehanna Speedway near York Haven on Sunday evening, May 7, taking part in the Kevin Gobrecht Classic honoring the late Kevin Gobrecht on what would have been The G-Man’s 48th birthday.
The pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Meckley’s Limestone/Central Builders Supply Co./Berkebile Oil Company/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/No. 3Z finished fifth during his visit to the York County oval, charging forward from 13th on the main event grid. The top-five performance was Zearfoss’ second of the 2017 season at Susquehanna Speedway, also finishing fourth on Sunday, April 9.
“I’m glad Susquehanna Speedway was able to get their program in. The weather was terrible all weekend. It’s nice to get a race in the books,” Brock Zearfoss explained. “I can’t say enough about this team right now. Things are clicking and it feels fantastic. Charging forward from outside of the top-ten to finish fifth says a lot about our program and where we are heading this year. The World of Outlaws will be in town before we know it. This is a prime time to be on the right track.”
Brock Zearfoss will return to competition this Friday and Saturday with a routine visit to Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, as well as Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal. The weekend will ignite with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Tune Up at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 12, followed by a regular program at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, May 13. Zearfoss, who will pilot the Aaron Long-owned No. 58 during the World of Outlaws Tune Up at Williams Grove, will enter his Central Pennsylvania doubleheader inside the top-ten in each of the track championship point races; fifth at the Port Royal “Speed Palace” and ninth at “The Grove.”
