Dietrich Highlights Recent WoO Swing With Podium At Lincoln
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY DIETRICH RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – Danny Dietrich was a permanent fixture on the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series campaign trail for nearly two weeks, earning main event starts in multiple states including Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. When the dust finally settled, Dietrich earned one podium finish during his travels with the Greatest Show On Dirt; finishing third aboard the Gary Kauffman-owned No. 48 during the annual Gettysburg Clash at Lincoln Speedway on May 17.
Other highlights during his World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series swing through the Northeast includes finishing 12th during the $17,000-to-win, Morgan Cup finale on Saturday, May 20.
“We had some back luck here and there, but other than that, I would say we had a pretty decent last two weeks. I think we have the potential and the capabilities to be a lot better, but we’ll take what we can get and move forward,” Danny Dietrich said. “I want to thank Tom Buch for the opportunity to drive his car at Weedsport and New Egypt. We didn’t have the results nor the outcomes we wanted, but we have plenty of time to make some adjustments and try some things.”
Dietrich finished 16th aboard the Tom Buch-owned No. 13 at New Egypt Speedway on Wednesday, May 24.
“Double-D” Danny Dietrich will continue his 2017 campaign with a Central Pennsylvania triple-header during Memorial Day weekend; visiting Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 26, followed by the annual Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, May 27-28. A total winner’s share reaching $19,000 will be distributed during Dietrich’s three-day campaign through The Keystone State, including $10,000 up for grabs during the Bob Weikert Memorial finale at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace.”
“We have three big reasons to stay close to home this weekend,” Danny Dietrich explained. “I can’t thank my crew enough for their hard work. The fans, too; they are more than supportive and we are very appreciative of that. Hopefully we can rack up a few more wins this weekend and give them all something to be proud about.”
