Virginia Motor Speedway Set For Week 3 Of Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship
Story By: DAVE SEAY / VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY – JAMAICA, VA – This Saturday April 22nd Virginia Motor Speedway will host week 3 of the Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly racing action featuring the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions.
After two weeks of championship action the rivalries are heating up early this year. Both Tyler Bare of Rockbridge Baths, VA (Victory Lap Pro Late Model) and Joey Polevoy of Powhatan, VA (Budweiser Modified) both have back to back victories to start the 2017 season. Both drivers will not be able to start any closer than eighth this weekend due to the track’s two win in a row rule. It should make for a very exciting night of racing.
The Truckin Thunder Sportsman and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions have been ultra-competitive and will be exciting to watch this Saturday once racing resumes.
Admission price for adults is only $12, seniors (60+) $10; military (active/retired w/ proper I.D.) $8, students 11 – 17 years old $6 and children 10 and under admitted free. Pit passes will be $20.
Competitor gates for Saturday April 22nd will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening at 5pm. On track activities will begin at 6:30pm with hot laps.
To enhance the fans racing experience the speedway has installed a short wave FM transmitter and all of the evening’s action can be heard at 95.5 FM. So bring your portable radio headset and enjoy hearing all the action.
Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway is a ½ mile dirt oval track is located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA. The speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland and the Hampton Roads area.
