Speedy First Aid News Briefs: Busch, Larson, Kahne Can’t Sit Still

Column By: JOHN DOUGLAS / RPW – From the big time back to their roots, Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch and Kasey Kahne opted out of an off-weekend. All decided to forego a nice realizing weekend, and instead headed to three different short tracks to compete on their Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Easter off-weekend.

Larson managed to win at Placerville speedway with the World of Outlaws, Busch ran the Easter Bunny 150 Super Late Model event, but less than 30 laps in he was behind the wall with mechanical issues.

Kahne traveled to the Texas Bullring to cheer on his sprint car teams. Brad Sweet, driver for Kahne in the No. 49 NAPA sprint car took home the win in front of the boss.

Lewis Hamilton Says Someday To The Daytona 500
On the heels of Fernando Alonso’s shock announcement that he will race for Andretti Auto Sport in the 101st Indianapolis 500, Lewis Hamilton went on record as saying he would someday like to compete in NASCAR’s biggest event the Daytona 500. It would not be the first time Hamilton has been behind te wheel of a stock car, as in 2011 he swapped seats with Tony Stewart at Watkins Glen in New York.

McLaren Struggles Continue At Bahrain
Stoffel Vandoorne was unable to take his grid position to take te start of the Bahrain G.P. and Fernando Alonso’s patience seems to be wearing thin. Alonso was heard by a world-wide audience as he expressed his immense displeasure with Honda’s engine. “They’re 300 meteres behind and overtake me on the straight. I’ve never raced with less power in my life.” Strong words from a multi-time champion.
