Story By: STEVE PETTY / RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY – RANSOMVILLE, NY – Management of the Ransomville Speedway met with members of the Susice family and will be adding a special race in memory of long time racing supporter John Susice Sr.
“My Uncle did a lot for racers around the area, and we thought it would be great to do something in his memory” commented two-time defending Krown Undercoating of Ransomville 358 Modified Champion Ryan Susice. John loved the action at tracks throughout the region and worked on the engines of several top Ransomville competitors. John passed away in February of 2017.
“John was always a huge Street Stock supporter, so it was a natural fit to have a big Street Stock race in his memory” stated Ransomville Speedway Race Director Jeff Anstett. The format of the John Susice Sr. Memorial will be a 30 lap feature with a draw to determine starting positions in the heat races and a redraw for the feature event. Rules follow the King of the Hill Street Stock rules which includes meeting Ransomville Street Stock weight. Niagara Region tracks Humberstone, Merrittville and Ohsweken rules are legal for this event. All Ransomville Street Stocks members will receive 60 show up points.
The John Susice Sr. Memorial will pay $400 to win with $250 for second, $150 for third, $120 for fourth and $100 for fifth. $75, $70, $60, $55 will be given for positions six through nine and $50 will be given for positions 10-24.
