Outlaw Mods Take Center Stage At Freedom Motorsports Park In ’17

Story By: CHARLIE LANGLOIS / FREEDOM MOTORSPORTS PARK – DELEVAN, NY – Big changes are on the horizon as Freedom Motorsports Park Promoter Bob Reis will once again feature a weekly Friday night four division racing program in 2017. For the first time ever, Outlaw Big and Small Block Modifieds with sail panels will be the headlining division.

Also, the Sportsman will be sanctioned by DIRTcar. The Prime Time Energy Services Modifieds, Tidds Towing DIRTcar Sportsman, Pioneer Ford Street Stocks and Danny Heineman & Sons Plumbing Mini Stocks will be the regular divisions. The Prime Time Energy Services opening night green flag is scheduled for 7:30 pm on Friday, May 12.

There are many special events on tap during 2017. The Prime Time Energy Services Modifieds will have extra distance, higher purse features on the June 30 Sahlens Night at the Races and the third annual Budweiser King of the Hill on September 1. September 1 will also see all divisional champions crowned.

The ULMS Super Late Models return twice in 2017. They will be in action for the third edition of the Bob McKerrow & Sons RV Ron Baker Memorial on May 26 and make their final appearance on Yorkshire Battery Night, July 14. Max Blair, with a late race pass of Dave Hess took down the exciting 2016 ULMS Super Late Model feature.

The spectacular Patriot Sprint Tour is back and will decide their point championship during the Mesler Trucking Fall Finale of September 8. An added bonus will find the Crate Late Models in action.

The Tidds Towing DIRTcar Sportsman will race in three $1000 to win shows this season. The Bellinger Electric Lightning Series races will occur on June 2 and August 4. The ROC Sportsman Tour is in town on June 30.

The NY6A Micro Sprint Tour visits Freedom for the first time on Sixt Lumber Night, June 9. They will also be on the card for the July 7 Danny Heineman & Sons Plumbing Night and September 8. The July 7 card will have extra dollars on the line for the Mini Stocks. The $750 to win Bixby Hill Shootout Street Stock extravaganza takes place on Barnacle Brothers Reclaimed Lumber Night, June 16. July 21 will be Marcos Pizza Autograph night. The Fall Enduro takes place on Saturday October 14. Returning race sponsor Pepsi is joined by new nightly race sponsors Rear End Specialists, Cummings Trucking and the Upstate Auto Group.

A practice session has been scheduled for Sunday May 7 which will also include an Enduro. The track will be silent on June 23 for graduations and August 18 for the county fairs.
