Modified Touring Series To Kickoff 2017 At Monadnock

Story By: MATTHEW WIERNASZ / RPW – WINCHESTER, NH – The EXIT Realty Modified Touring Series will kickoff their 2017 season this Saturday night with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Spring Dash 125 at Monadnock Speedway. The series will be running a chase style format. It will be a 10 race schedule. The first five races will be based on points to get in the championship playoff or if you win a race.

They will take 12 teams from the first half based on points. On the ninth race, seven teams will be eliminated and five will battle for the 2017 championship on Saturday night September 16th at Monadnock Speedway where the winner will go home with $10,000.

EXIT Realty MTS founder Gary Knight believes a 125 lap race will separate him from everyone else but also puts it in the middle of the road where it will give the teams the opportunity to change a tire. It doesn’t mean they have to come and change a tire.

A lot of teams have registered with the series. Les Hinckley out of Windsor Locks, CT will drive the Art Barry # 21. Ryan Preece as well as Eric Goodale have entered. A Monadnock favorite Kirk Alexander who is no stranger to visiting victory lane at quarter mile oval could be a contender to win on Saturday night.

The program at Monadnock Speedway will begin this Saturday at 5:00 P.M. with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Spring Dash 125 going off at approx 9:00 P.M.
