Humberstone Is Ready For 2nd ‘Dawn of Destruction’

Story By: STEVE PETTY / HUMBERSTONE SPEEDWAY – PORT COLBORNE, ONT – The anticipation to the 2017 season at the Humberstone Speedway continues to grow as in less than five days, is the 2nd annual Dawn of Destruction presented by ATTAR Metals on Sunday April 30.

At 1:00pm on Sunday April 30th will be the second annual Dawn of Destruction. “We are pleased to have Milton Braun and the gang from ATTAR Metals on board for our Dawn of Desturction and Eve of Destruction events” comments Humberstone Speedway General Manager Bob Davidson. As part of their sponsorship, ATTAR Metals will be having on-site scrap service the day of the Dawn of Destruction and Eve of Destruction. “At the end of the day, if your car needs to be scrapped, instead of trying to load it up and taking it to the scrap yard yourself, ATTAR Metals will be purchasing cars at market value, right at the track.

This wild and crazy day will feature several events that will have you on the edge of your seat. “We will have something for everyone” says Humberstone Race Director Tom Beales. “I will assure you that the Construction Crush Off will not disappoint. It’s going to be something that you want to see live, feel the ground shake beneath you and you have to see it to believe it” Beales said. The second edition of the Construction Crush Off will feature defending event winner Darren Peters from Peters Excavating and Dave Walters for Walters Excavating. New this year, event sponsor ATTAR Metals will also be participating. Besides the construction crush off, an $1000 to win, 100 lap Enduro will take place plus a Ladies Race, Flag Pole Race, Side by Side race, Enduro Cross, a trailer jump stunt and more. The show will go off with a bang at 1pm sharp. Pit gates will open at 10 am, with Grandstands opening at 11 am. Grandstand admission will be $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, and 7 and under free. Pit admission will be $25. Drivers who pre-register up until Friday April 28 will be $50 and includes scorer. After that its $75 and includes a scorer.
