Story By: MATT KEITH / ALBANY-SARATOGA SPEEDWAY – MALTA, NY – When the track championship for the Limited Sportsman Division at Albany-Saratoga Speedway is decided there will be some extra money on the table thanks to Electric City Taxi owner Gary DeRocher.

DeRocher, also a competitor in the Limited Sportsman division, has established a $1,100 dollar point fund for 2017. The payout will award $500 to the winner, $300 to second, and $100 each to third through fifth in the final point standings. All monies will be awarded at the annual speedway banquet to be held at year’s end and are in addition to the regular track point fund for the division.

DeRocher has been a long time race fan and feels that the support divisions are just as important as the headline divisions. His plan to support the Limited Sportsman division was first announced during the 2016 season-ending banquet.

“Having Electric City Taxi come on board as a supporter of the Limited Sportsman is great for the division,” stated Lyle DeVore, promoter of Albany-Saratoga. He continued, “Dave’s support of the class is an example of the commitment of our participants at all levels. We look forward to a long relationship with Electric City Taxi.”
