Utica-Rome’s Modifieds Racing After $3,500 Top Prize Friday; CRSA Sprints Join Card

For the first time in 2021, Utica-Rome Speedway welcomes the winged warriors of the CRSA Sprint Car division on A-Verdi Storage Containers night this Friday, June 25.
This Friday marks the first of two CRSA Sprint Car appearances at the ‘Home of Heroes’ this season, with the second coming on Aug. 20 and their first visit to the speedway since 2017. The Patriot Sprint Tour 360 Sprint Cars will also be in action on Sunday, Sept. 5.
The CRSA Sprint Cars join the Sunoco Modifieds headlining the night, as the Modifieds will race for an increased $3,500-to-win purse after last Friday’s rained-out program. The Modifieds will take the green for the 900th time in the history of the speedway.
Along with the Modifieds and Sprint Cars, the Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman, Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman, and Cool Stuff Antiques Four Cylinders will all be in action.
Matt Sheppard currently sits atop the Sunoco Modified points standings, maintaining an 18-point advantage over Sheffield, Mass., driver Andy Bachetti.
Matt Janczuk paces the Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman. The Sherrill, N.Y., resident sits at three wins in the early going and maintains the point lead.
Beau Ballard leads the way for the Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks, holding the point lead as a two-time winner already this season.
Clayton DuMond has won three out of four Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman features, extending his lead to 30 markers over second place.
Justin Pope is three-for-three, winning every Cool Stuff Antiques Four Cylinder feature to date.
For the June 25 program, all gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with racing beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $14. Seniors (ages 65 and up) pay $12. Kids 11 and under are FREE.
Pit Admission is $30 for Utica-Rome Speedway members and $35 for non-members.
